L.A. Movie Producer to do Auditions HERE!
Hollywood's next big stars may not come from a major Los Angeles talent agency, but from somewhere in Roswell. Open casting call auditions for the film, "Coyote County Loser," will begin at 9 a.m. on August 16 at the Roswell Community Little Theater at 1101 N. Virginia Ave. Eleven roles, including the two leads are up for grabs. Production, scheduled to start in October, will also occur in Roswell. Producer Jacob Roebuck believes that the secret to success is casting actual small-town people to play the parts of small-town people. As for finding the talent he needs, Roebuck said he doesn't know what he will find, but added he is excited anyway. A drive around Roswell convinced him that the city had the charm that his film needed. His co-producer, upon a recent visit here, has also fallen in love with the city. "[Roswell] fits what we're going for," Roebuck said. "We really hope that it [the film] says something good about love. I think people will feel really good about leaving the theater."Set in the American Southwest, the movie is about a struggling radio station that has a reversal of fortune when a Los Angeles radio D.J. comes to town and begins broadcasting a hit radio program. He initiates an on-air contest to find the "biggest loser," helping that person woo any woman in Coyote County. Progress of the film can be tracked at coyotecountyloser.com. For more information about auditioning, contact Roebuck at (714) 914-0773.
